The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation seems to be reporting that Texas prison Labute Penitentiary is so serious about the second amendment rights of the inmates that it will allow them to keep guns. Of course there are some security implications. The story quotes "Lyle Wyatt", the warden:
If everybody has a gun, then everybody is safe ... besides the inmates are only allowed to have their guns in their cells.
The story appears to be reported by CBC so many people initally believed it was true:
This week Labute Penitentiary, a medium security prison in Deacon County Texas, announced it will be recognizing the second amendment right of all its prisoners. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed just because an individual is in jail!"
The news quickly went viral according to Lead Stories' Trendolizer:
But on closer inspection the news appears to be just a satirical story from the radio show 'This is That' aired by CBC which has its website hosted under the main cbc.ca domain. The domain name confusion has helped previous satirical articles from the show go viral, for example this one about a complete 47-car train that went missing somewhere in Canada.
